FROM THE CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART’S CATALOG

This sketch represents an apotheosis, or a rise to heaven, of a saint. However, the precise identity of the figure remains unknown, since documents describing the commission have not yet been discovered, and the military costume does not sufficiently distinguish him.
