FROM THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO’S CATALOG

Salvator Rosa was a painter, etcher, poet, and actor, as well as a musician. Born in Naples, he was active there and in Rome and Florence. He produced over 100 etchings after 1650, including the series Diverse Figures, to which this print belongs.
