FROM THE CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART’S CATALOG

The 2nd-century Hercules Telephos was unearthed in the Campo de’Fiori in Rome and was on view at the Belvedere Courtyard of the Vatican by the time Hendrick Goltzius visited the city.
