FROM THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO’S CATALOG

The front (obverse) of this coin portrays Alexander the Great as Herakles, wearing the hero's signature lion skin cloak, surrounded by a dotted border. On the back (reverse), the god Zeus is depicted seated with an eagle in his right hand and a staff in his left.
