ABOUT THIS WORK
This double-sided panel — the Madonna and Child on one face, the dead Christ in pietà on the other — was stolen from an armored display case at the Museo Regionale di Messina on the evening of August 15, 2026; the Carabinieri are investigating. We are keeping it visible here in the hope that it comes home.
