Androi Andreani reproduced the works of the major artists of his century-such as Raphael, Parmigianino, and Titian-in color woodcuts. This impressive composition honors Raffaellino da Reggio , a little-known Florentine painter of the mid-16th century. The work may have been commissioned by Giovanni de' Medici, the Italian general to whom the work is dedicated.
