FROM THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO’S CATALOG

Jacques Bellange was among the most original artists at the court of Lorraine, based 150 miles northeast of Paris in the city of Nancy. Few of his paintings have survived, however, and he is appreciated today primarily for his drawings and etchings.
