FROM THE CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART’S CATALOG

Lalanne made an important contribution to the etching revival in mid-19th-century France. In 1862, he was one of the founders of the Etching Society (Société des Aquafortistes) with whom he published numerous landscape and architectural prints.
