Known for his landscapes, the painter and printmaker Albert Christoph Dies created the etching Lake Nemi , which exemplifies the picturesque settings that he used for inspiration in his art. Dies encountered Lake Nemi, a scenic crater lake in the Alban Mountains near Rome, during his visits to Italy.
