FROM THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO’S CATALOG

The front (obverse) of this coin portrays the head of King Chosroes II, the last great king of the Sasanian Empire, facing to the right. The back (reverse) shows a fire altar with attendants, a crescent and star flank the flames.
